What to Expect
Walking into a new church for the first time can sometimes be intimidating or uncomfortable. At Grace Bible Church, you can expect to feel welcomed and accepted. It doesn't matter if you are new to church or further along in your spiritual journey, we have a place for you here! We know you may have questions, so we've tried to answer some of them below.
What type of church is Grace Bible Church?
Grace Bible Church is a non-denominational church that is all about helping people find and follow Jesus. We believe it is possible for church to be the highlight of the week for the entire family. We know this happens when we focus everything on Jesus, connect in community, and learn straight from the Bible.
When and where are your services?
Our worship service takes place every Sunday at 10:00am. We are located at 130 University Drive in Dunmore, PA. We are behind the Sheetz on the O'Neill Highway, and right across the street from Penn State Scranton.
What happens when I arrive?
When you arrive you can expect a very hospitable environment. From our outdoor hosts in our parking lot to our greeters and ushers, our main goal is to help you feel welcomed and answer any questions you may have. If you have kids, you can do to the kids check-in booth and check them into our kid's classes where they will have a blast. Be sure to grab a free hot cup of coffee in the Hub, our cafe area, and head into the auditorium.
What is a service like?
Our service is designed with the goal of creating an engaging and encouraging time with God. The three main elements of a Sunday service are singing, prayer, and teaching from God's Word from one of our pastors. There will be no expectations of you (no "visitors stand up") and there is no need to give when we take the offering.
What about my kids?
At Grace Bible Church, we love kids! From infants to elementary age, we have done our best to help your children have a blast while learning about Jesus. We offer programs from nursery through grade 4. All of our children's volunteers have been through thorough background checks, in order to create a safe environment for your children to learn. Each child must be checked-in at our check-in booth, as well as checked-out by one of our volunteers upon leaving.
What about my middle school and high school students?
We offer a variety of events and activities for our students. We desire to lead young people into a maturing devotion to God, a Christ-centered direction in life, and a desire to impact others during their teen years. Kids Connect (Grades 1-6) and Youth Group (Grades 7-12) meet on Wednesday nights here at the church from 6:30-8:00 PM. (During the summer there is no Kids Connect. However the Youth Group continues to meet with extended hours from 6:30-8:30 PM.)
Join us this weekend as we learn more about who God is and how He wants us to live this life He has given us!
